• 12 athletes compete in sprint races, 16 athletes compete in endurance races. 2 heats will be run for each race; in the sprints the top 3 in each heat will advance to the final; in the endurance races the top 4 will qualify to the final.
  • Each athlete will compete either in the sprint category or the endurance category, with the exception of the champion’s race where the top 3 sprinters from the night will meet the top 3 endurance athletes for a grand finale.
  • In the event of a tie, the highest placement in the race closest to the distance of the champion’s race will be the tie breaker

    • 3rd – 20
    • 4th – 10
    • 5th – 5
    • 6th - 0

  • Points for endurance:
    • 1st – 80
    • 2nd – 40
    • 3rd – 20
    • 4th – 10

    • 6th – 3
    • 7th – 1
    • 8th - 0

  • The champion’s race will have an independent points system determining the season overall grand champion. The cash purse given in the grand champion’s race will exceed all other races

  • Points for Champion's Race:
    • 1st - 60
    • 2nd - 30
    • 3rd - 15
    • 4th - 8
    • 5th - 4
    • 6th - 2

  • DQ’s and DNF’s earn 0 points
  • Each race earns cash bonus to be determined prior to event; both amount and depth to be determined
  • There will be 3 champions at each event: sprint champion, endurance champion, and the grand champion 
  • The points from each event will go towards an overall winner of the season for each discipline

  • Athletes determined to be blatantly team skating will receive a fine and possible demotion to the alternate pool
  • Bonus will be given at the end of the event for outstanding achievement in a category determined before the start of the event. ie best pass, biggest comeback etc.
