Endurance Initiation
October 24, 2009
NSC 1 is shaping up to be in interesting event; with the caliber of athletes we have in our sprint races it’s difficult to take your focus off of them, but let’s shift our attention to the endurance athletes. This event could very well be the passing of the torch from old to new, but not if veteran Jeremy ‘The Hammering Husky’ Anderson has anything to do with it. Jeremy, currently 33 years old, is far past the typical prime age for an indoor speed skater, yet he continues to defy the odds with his consistent top placement performances. Will this be the year his age finally catches up? Along to reclaim his place at the top is veteran Fourth Lacey, age 28. Fourth, who was once at the pinnacle of inline speed skating, has been on a 7 year absence, however, with the introduction of NSC, Fourth has decided to come out of retirement and wants to prove that neither his age nor his absence has affected his ability to once again be a champion. Ready to steal the torch are new comers Justin Mannon (17), Keith Carroll (18), and Jake Powers (18) fighting for their chance to prove they belong racing the big boys. NSC 1 initiation will be a night to remember for the ages.
